do i layout
as if the floor were a plan
day in day out
i don't think i can

i am lost in the maze
just a passing phase
it's a sign
by design

the walls are closing in
i must shed this skin
it's my age
and my cage

i was on the way out
but decided to stay
the door
got in the way

i had never seen the floor
having never
looked beneath the rug
before

is it possible to live
without these things
