i despair

i despair
it seems that life
involves the endless frustration
of people who do not want to listen
they will not hear
you either agree with them
or you keep your mouth shut
for fear of offending them
if you are lucky
they will either ignore you
or they will judge you
and discredit you any way they can
if you are not so lucky they will
want to harm you, hurt you
even kill you

we call ourselves intelligent
and educated
but why must bigoted narrow mindedness rule this planet
