I got it. To me, art (or anything) is like a punch in the nose, it depends on the relationship, the "giver" or the "receiver." What "is" is always subjective. "Is" is nothing but that. I used to try to find the "real," that was a mistake. The "trying" can get in the way. Things happen, the reality is our relationship with it. That is where all truth lies. "The world" exists through each individual's physical and emotional experience. Without us, "really is" is a mathematical equation 2(A X B) + 4(D+F) X .9999 =? Are we mathematical equations? In one sense yes. I do not really consider myself an existentialist, but it's basic framework is pretty accurate in terms of "meaning." We assign a value to things, "good" and "bad." But if something "bad" turns out "good," which is it?
We come at this from different angles. One should hope that we stop "expecting." Expectations can be obsessive, and painful if not realized. The "programming" favors expectation. Keeping us "expecting" is a form of control. When you are not waiting for "A" to happen, "B," "C,".....can evolve forming those new "bridges." ,
